The chances of Australia’s carbon tax going ahead improved yesterday when police announced they would not charge a Labor MP with fraud.
The scheme’s future has been in doubt amid allegations that the MP, Craig Thomson, used a trade union credit card to pay for prostitutes when he was a union official in 2005.
