Royal wedding a lot of hot ... emissions

A New Zealand carbon-footprinting organisation says that today’s royal wedding could generate nearly 7000 tonnes of greenhouse gases.
Landcare’s CarboNZero estimates that the wedding ceremony of Prince William and Kate Middleton itself will generate 2808 tonnes of carbon dioxide-equivilent, and that the travel done by crowds expected to line the streets of London could generate another 4000 tonnes.
