Business group wants right to use hot-air AAUs

Business lobbyists are pushing for the right to use foreign AAUs (assigned amount units) to offset their New Zealand carbon liabilities.
There is international concern about the quality or “greenness” of AAUs – often known as hot-air AAUs – and at the moment they are banned from both the European and New Zealand schemes.
