UK’s richest man could pocket £1bn from trading

Britain’s richest man, Lakshmi Mittal, majority owner of steel giant ArcelorMittal, could make more than £1 billion over the next two years from the European Union’s emissions trading scheme.
The trading scheme, set up in 2005, allows companies to emit CO2 up to a certain level, beyond which they must buy extra permits to cover the excess emissions.
