Buffett pockets quick billion on China hybrid maker

American investment guru Warren Buffett has earned a $1 billion paper profit from an investment he agreed to make in Chinese hybrid carmaker BYD less than a year ago.
BYD has jumped fivefold in Hong Kong trading since the Buffett deal was announced, helped by the American’s investment and rising demand for fuel-efficient vehicles.
