Wal-Mart to demand eco-labels on all products

United States supermarket giant Wal-Mart has rolled out an ambitious plan to require manufacturers to put eco-labels on all items to show consumers the full environmental cost of production - from raw materials to disposal.
Natural resources for everything we grow, eat, drink, produce, package, buy, transport and throw away is outpacing the earth's capacity to sustain it, said Wal-Mart executives, in announcing its sustainability index.
