New Zealand asking to exempt agriculture from the scheme to replace the Kyoto Treaty is as credible as Saudi Arabia asking for the exemption of oil.
If New Zealand does this "we will be laughed out of the room" says Business Council CEO Peter Neilson in this opinion peice, published as agriculture lobbies hard to be exempt from the ETs, have its entry delayed, or its taxpayer subsidies for emissions increased and run for longer.
