Farmers deserve reward, not tax, says scientist

Farmers should be compensated for their work in tending the eco system instead of being taxed for climate change, says Professor Robert Watson, chief scientific adviser for Britain’s department of environment, food, and rural affairs.
Speaking at a public seminar organised by Victoria University in Wellington on Friday, Watson said that it would be the ability of farmers everywhere to adapt to climate change that would determine the outcome for civilisation.
