Big emitters deny overstating carbon scheme cost

Big emitters Woodside Petroleum and Rio Tinto have denied claims by an environmental group they overstated costs of proposed Australian climate change legislation to the public and the government.
The Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF), a group with 30,000 members, claimed it had found 14 instances where companies made public statements on the proposed laws inconsistent with disclosures to investors.
