Waste reduction advocates slam plastic recycling feasibility study

Supporters of a new collaboration between businesses and government say a feasibility study into a local recycling industry is the first step towards a circular economy for soft plastic packaging.
However the Zero Waste Network and Aotearoa Plastic Pollution Alliance say the government is throwing money at an experimental, risky and carbon-intensive technology that will increase plastic, climate and chemical pollution, rather than reduce it.
