Climate leadership top issue in 2024: Institute of Directors

Climate leadership is top of the list of major issues for directors in 2024, with carbon pricing set to take on new importance, according to the Institute of Directors.
In a list the institute says reflects the “top five risks” New Zealand boards are going to face this year, they are predicting carbon pricing through the New Zealand Emissions Trading Scheme could take on a pivotal role, with renewed focus on actions to deliver New Zealand’s international commitments on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, as well as measures to provide greater market certainty.
