Carbon trade wrong, says former BP chief

Lord Browne, the former chief executive of BP and one of the earliest proponents of carbon trading to tackle climate change, has conceded his enthusiasm was misplaced.
Speaking to the Observer at the UK Government's low-carbon industrial strategy summit last week, he said: "My view has shifted over time. Pinning all your hopes on the European Union emissions trading scheme and carbon trading is wrong."
