UN drives roadmap for halving car emissions

With the world's car fleet expected to triple by 2050, a roadmap to halve greenhouse gas emissions from automobiles by that date was laid out by United Nations at the Geneva Motor Show.
The “50 by 50” Global Fuel Economy Initiative (GFEI) charts a strategy for the world to change to cleaner and more efficient cars, advocating that it be integrated into the financial support the car industry receives during the financial crisis.
