Ooops, no immediate tax-cut billions from selling emissions credits
Unlike Australia, there will be no multi-billion-dollar windfall to the New Zealand Government from selling carbon credits.
Monash University’s Climate Institute has estimated the Australian Government will end up with a carbon credit trading surplus of between $7b and $20b at the end of the first Kyoto Protocol commitment period in 2012.
