Finnish startup raises €1.8 million to make manufacturing concrete carbon negative

Joensuu-based Carbonaide, a VTT spin-out company, has raised €1.8 million in seed funding, which will be used to integrate their CO2 curing technology into an automated production line in Hollola, Finland.
Carbonaide’s technology enables the production of carbon-negative concrete by using industrial side streams and carbon dioxide capture, utilization, and storage technology. The round was led by Lakan Betoni and Vantaa and saw support from public loans, Business Finland, and other Finnish concrete companies and strategic investors.
