Rudd backs renewables and home power generation

The Rudd Government has released details of two energy conservation schemes which it says will boost renewables and provide powerful incentives for Australians to install home micro-generation units.
Treasurer Wayne Swan, Minister for Climate Change Senator Penny Wong and Minister for the Environment Peter Garrett yesterday announced the Government's 20 per cent Renewable Energy Target and a new “solar credits” plan as part of Australia's move to a low pollution future.
