Australia sets minimum target of 5% emissions cut

The Rudd Government has set Australia a minimum target to cut emissions by 5 per cent by 2020, based on year 2000 levels.
But the country will cut emissions by up to 15 per cent if international negotiations in Copenhagen in late 2009 agree on tough global action, Rudd announced yesterday in his government’s White Paper.
