Hydrofluorocarbons import cap lowered

The Environmental Protection Authority has lowered import limits for hydrofluorocarbons, a group of greenhouse gases used in heat pumps, air conditioning and refrigeration.
HFCs have a global warming potential more than 50 times higher than carbon dioxide. The EPA has been working to reduce their use since 2019, following domestic legislation and international agreements.
