Offsetting the emissions from a single dairy cow would require the planting of 0.6 hectares of pine forest, a new report from the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment has found.
Simon Upton says he commissioned the study by climate scientists Professor Dave Frame and Dr Nathanael Melia “simply to lay out what can and cannot be credibly claimed with respect to offsetting methane from livestock."
