Forestry policy juggling competing priorities

THE finance and expenditure committee has reported back the Overseas Investment (Forestry) Amendment Bill, highlighting the Government’s attempt to grapple with competing priorities in the sector.
This includes the desire to plant more trees for processing and to tackle climate change, while getting more investment in forestry and preserving good quality farmland.
