Stronger climate action needed: Forest and Bird

THE GOVERNMENT'S new biodiversity strategy implementation plan, launched yesterday, needs stronger action from government economic agencies to protect New Zealand from the impacts of climate change, according to Forest and Bird.
The Te Mana O Te Taiao Aotearoa New Zealand Biodiversity Strategy Implementation Plan is an excellent start, says Forest and Bird chief executive Nicola Toki, but she wants to see primary sector and economic ministers driving MPI, MBIE, and Treasury's understanding of the scale of transformation needed. “The biodiversity crisis requires all hands to the pump, not just the natural resources agencies who are currently leading this work.”
