Introducing the Glasgow Conversations

29 Oct 2021

ALASTAIR THOMPSON is one of just two New Zealand journalists covering the COP26 summit from Glasgow. For the duration of the summit he will be having a daily chat with Carbon News editor Jeremy Rose.

Alastair, the founder of Scoop.co.nz, is now based in France and as he tells Jeremy in the first episode of the Glasgow Conversations, he made his way across the channel by ship and then travelled up to Glasgow by electric train.

Carbon footprints will be front of mind for many of the 30,000 attendees of COP26.

President Joe Biden has ditched his usual helicopter for a motorcade from Edinburgh - where he's staying - to Glasgow. He'll have the highway to himself as its closed down for security reasons.

Alastair and Jeremy caught for a Zoom chat last night (NZ time) for a practice run.
