Scientists back matauranga Maori's role in climate research

Matauranga Maori (traditional Maori knowledge) has a vital part to play in finding solutions to a myriad of urgent problems - including climate change - according to the New Zealand Association of Scientists.
The association put out a release highlighting the importance of matauranga Maori presumably in response to a letter in this week's Listener Magazine from seven current and retired University of Auckland professors critical of the incorporation of matauranga Maori into the school science curriculum.
