Cut company tax to 25%, Aussies plead

A 5% cut in the company tax rate is being demanded by lobbyist Australian Industry Group (AIG) to cushion business from the financial impact of the emissions trading scheme (ETS) that Kevin Rudd’s Australian Labor Government intends implementing in 2010.
AIG wants the tax cut, which would lower the company rate to 25%, to be phased in before the ETS and other environment policies “shift relative prices and initiate a substantial process of adjustment in the Australian economy.”
