Minister responds to climate criticism

CLIMATE CHANGE minister James Shaw says the Government is considering the Parliamentary Commissioner for the Environment's recommendations - which include a call for a departure tax.
Replying to criticism, in yesterday's Carbon News, of the Government's opening of the trans-Tasman bubble without taking any steps to rein in aviation emissions, Shaw said it was currently considering the commission's recommendations in its February report: Not 100 % - but four steps closer to sustainable tourism.
