First carbon auction clears at $36

THE FIRST Government auction of carbon credits today saw all 4.75 million NZUs sell at $36.
That’s $2.25 below the price spot NZUs closed at on the secondary market last night, with both CommTrade and Carbon Match fixing at $38.75.
