Australia’s government has been told heavy emitters’ claims for assistance to cushion the impact of that country’s Carbon Pollution Reduction Scheme are “highly contestable".
The Climate Institute says claims from heavy emitters for emissions credits, to avoid relocation offshore, need to be carefully examined before handing over A$6 billion or more.
