ETS leaves treaty settlements in doubt, says Harawira

The validity of final Treaty of Waitangi settlements is in doubt in the wake of the passing of the emissions trading scheme, says the Maori Party.
The party – which voted against the Climate Change (Emissions Trading and Renewable Preference) Bill last night - failed to win support for amendments requiring Parliament to acknowledge the impact the ETS would have on treaty settlements.
