RANFURLY SHIELD-STYLE competition between provinces could get New Zealanders to finally cut greenhouse gas emissions, provincial local councils say.
“A feature of our national psyche is the pride New Zealanders place on performing above our weight in the sporting arena,” the Whanganui District Council says in a remit to the Local Government New Zealand annual meeting this week.
