We’ve slashed carbon dioxide emissions, claim US airlines

US airlines have reduced carbon dioxide emissions by the equivalent of what 18.7 million cars produce annually, an industry group says.
Domestic airlines emitted about 11 billion fewer pounds of carbon dioxide in 2007 than in 2000, according to an annual economic report released this week by the Air Transport Association, the industry trade organisation for US carriers.
