THE EFFECTIVE price cap on carbon prices in New Zealand will go to $35 this year.
A supplementary order paper before Parliament today lifts the fixed-price option under the Emissions Trading Scheme – a clause allowing emitters to pay money instead of surrendering carbon credits – from $25 to $35.
