Lockdown gave us whiff of life with low pollution

SEVEN WEEKS of lockdown has provided evidence of how pollution can vanish overnight, says the National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research.
Air quality scientist Dr Ian Longley has been monitoring air quality in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch since Level 4 restrictions were implemented on March 26, and says working from home can not only cut emissions but also reduce health risks.
