Lift RMA emissions ban, says select committee

A 2004 BAN on considering greenhouse gas emissions in resource consents should be overturned, the Environment Select Committee has told Parliament.
In a majority report, the committee says the Resource Management Amendment Bill should “explicitly remove statutory barriers to consideration of climate change in decision-making under the RMA”.
