SHUTTING DOWN the global airline industry for good would deliver only a fraction of the emissions reductions needed in a year to avert disastrous levels of climate change, an expert says.
Scientists are reporting dramatic reductions in air and water pollution as the world locks down in response to the covid-19 pandemic, and there are predictions the global shutdown will also cut greenhouse gas emissions.
