GREENHOUSE gas emissions from freight currently shipped through Auckland will increase 400 per cent if the port’s operations are shifted to Northland, a new critique says.
Giving serious consideration to Northport, at Marsden Point in Whangarei, as an alternative to the port in downtown Auckland was a condition of the coalition agreement between Labour and New Zealand First.
