Big farm subsidy won't work, says Super Fund

THE GOVERNMENT'S plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions from farming won’t work while the sector is being given a 95 per cent subsidy, say the Guardians of the New Zealand Super Fund.
The $44 billion sovereign wealth fund - a major investor in rural land – is calling for the proposed free allocation of carbon units to be rapidly reduced over the next decade.
