National MP Judith Collins’ dismissal of the need for urgent action on climate change is being called ill-informed, dangerous and just plain wrong.
The former Cabinet minister – who in June outranked party leader Simon Bridges in the preferred-prime minister stakes – says the risks associated with allowing global heating to exceed 1.5deg are being overstated by an “increasingly fanatical” green lobby.
