Heavy emitters are warning that the New Zealand economy is in for a roller-coaster ride if the emissions trading scheme comes into force.
Greenhouse Policy Coalition executive director Catherine Beard says that the "volatile and rising" international price of carbon means that every business and household will face a new set of energy costs over which they will have little control.
