Government said no to official methane advice

THE GOVERNMENT went beyond officials’ advice in proposing cuts in methane emissions of up to 47 per cent, briefing papers show.
Documents released to the Opposition under the Official Information Act show ministers were told that reducing methane emissions by up to 25 per cent by 2050 would be enough.
