Govt explains why $25 cap should stay for now

THE GOVERNMENT says the current cap on the price of carbon needs to stay in place while the Emissions Trading Scheme is reviewed.
Prices for spot NZUs have fallen below $25 since the Government’s announcement last week that the fixed-price option – effectively a cap on carbon prices – would stay in place for the current emissions year.
