Using revenue from the Emissions Trading Scheme to fund carbon sequestration by farmers is one of the options the Government is considering as it opens discussion with other countries on ways of dealing with agricultural greenhouse gas emissions.
New Zealand is co-hosting agricultural side events at climate talks being held in Poland, and climate minister James Shaw says he is taking every opportunity to show other countries they don’t need to be afraid of dealing with agricultural emissions.
