Buying credits last resort, say energy managers

BUYING international carbon credits to meet New Zealand’s greenhouse gas emissions reduction commitments will be expensive and should be a last resort, the Government has been told.
The country could have a shortfall in meeting its 2030 target under the Paris Agreement, and the Government is considering using international units to meet it.
