Ministry likes look of targeted green taxes

THE MINISTRY for the Environment says it likes environmental taxes – especially for dealing with climate change and water problems.
Half of New Zealand’s greenhouse gases are already covered by a carbon price through the Emissions Trading Scheme, and the ministry is thinking about how to do something similar with water.
