Weakening oil and coal slows carbon market

Another mixed day for carbon with EUAs holding ground while CERs continued to weaken, OM Financial reports.
A weak coal price lent support to the EUAs whilst continuing unwind of speculative longs in CERs pushed vintages lower right across the strip, especially in the back vintages which has seen the contango flatten out.
