Farmers say no to environmental taxes

FARMERS are overwhelmingly opposed to environmental taxes – unless the revenue comes to them.
A survey undertaken by Federated Farmers as part of its submission on the future of the tax system shows that 82 per cent of members oppose environmental taxes of any kind, such as taxes on water use, fertilisers, agricultural chemicals, energy and nitrogen.
