Minister silent on arbitrage as prices climb

Climate minister James Shaw isn’t commenting on the risk of arbitrage as carbon prices climb closer to the Government’s artificial price cap.
Last week, Carbon News reported that taxpayers could be left with a hefty bill if the owners of post-1989 forests decide to sit on carbon credits and meet the carbon liabilities incurred when trees are harvested by paying the Government fee.
