Government’s bio-fuel bubble fit to burst

The bio-fuels bubble has exploded in the face of the Labour Government’s demand that they be incorporated into petrol and diesel mixes, according to the New Zealand chief executive of global energy giant British Petroleum (BP), Peter Griffiths.
The Government’s mandate that bio-ingredients comprise 3.4% of the energy content of the inland fuel market will substantially increase the cost of fuel with no reduction in the carbon footprint, Griffiths told Carbon News.
