GREENHOUSE gases escaping from wetlands and permafrost could slash the world’s carbon budget by nearly a quarter, scientists say.
Research published today in Nature Geoscience says that most current estimates of the amount of greenhouse gases that can be released while keeping warming within Paris Agreement targets fail to take into account increases in the feedback loops of natural gases.
