Trust ticks off benefits of higher carbon prices

CARBON PRICES of $50 to $350 a tonne by 2020 will drive investments in low-emissions development of Maori land, creating jobs and alleviating poverty along the way, the Government is being told.
Te Rau Aroha Charitable Trust is already poised to create 100 direct and 500 indirect jobs in the Eastern Bay of Plenty, and says thousands of low-emissions jobs could follow if the Emissions Trading Scheme is allowed to do its job.
