Australia announces all-gases and almost-all sectors ETS

Australia has announced a proposal for a broad emissions trading scheme that covers all six greenhouse gases and every sector except agriculture.
In a green (discussion) paper released today, Australia’s Labor Government says that it intends to cut greenhouse-gas emissions by 60 per cent below 2000 levels by 2050, and will use what it says is one of the most broad-based emissions trading schemes in the world.
